About Project

Set within the scenic highlands of the Dendi Crater Lake in the Oromia Region, west of Addis Ababa, the Dendi Eco Lodge is one of Ethiopia’s flagship hospitality developments. Elmi Construction was engaged by Webuild, one of the world’s leading construction groups, to deliver the resort’s construction.

Beginning with the bulk earthworks and reinforced-concrete substructure, Elmi’s scope expanded through successive variations into a comprehensive building contract — structural works, reinforced-concrete retaining walls, internal access roads and external works, and the full architectural structure and finishing of the resort’s buildings, including the lodges, public spaces, spa, service block and sporting centre, together with the project’s civil MEP infrastructure — all executed to international standards in remote, environmentally sensitive terrain.

Now complete and officially inaugurated as Haroo Dendi Lodge by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in April 2026, the development is a centrepiece of Ethiopia’s national “Dine for Generation” initiative — described by the Prime Minister as “the new face of Ethiopia, where modern architecture follows the heartbeat of nature.” The project reflects Elmi’s ability to execute heavy civil and structural works to world-class standards in challenging locations.
